We all love a good bag, don’t we? But sometimes it’s hard to narrow down the right choice with all the options out there. We are excited to offer you this break down of features and show you comparisons of various brands and bags so you can see for yourself the pros and cons of different bags on the market when making a choice for your investment. To see more from our series, you can view our first Product Round Up post here.
Today’s round up includes 3 similar sized bags with three totally different looks- the Lily Jade Anna (medium) in Old English, the Azaria La Mere Luxe (petite) in Camel, and the Māden (formerly Joone) Carry All Tote in Camel.
First up we will talk about organization and space! As we have mentioned before, Lily Jade’s designs always include considerations for mom and baby. The Anna showcases generously deep exterior pockets. There are also front and back compartments! Our customers love this feature because it is smartly designed to perform as two bags in one. With this unique design, it allows you to organize your baby gear, work materials, gym clothes, and everyday items as needed.
Both the Māden and Azaria bags feature interior pockets as well. Some feedback received about the La Mere Luxe was that the interior pockets were a touch on the small side and the outside pockets were too stiff and the leather was a bit too tight to pack. You can see from our side shot view, the tumbler was unable to fit into the side exterior pocket while the adjustable Māden ones and the deep Lily Jade ones easily fit the drink container.
Next, we will talk about space or “roominess.” The La Mere Luxe bag came in as the smallest with the Anna and the CarryAll Tote able to comfortably fit the same generous sized towels. Although it is a backpack style bag, it really is hard to use a true backpack with gear needed for more than a few hours or a quick errand. While the Māden CarryAll Tote is roomy, it does lose some shape when packed to capacity. When it was packed with all needed items in it, the zipper flattens and looks a little overstuffed.
Finally, we will talk about comfort. Feedback for the Māden CarryAll Tote is that it is really lightweight and it has lots of different options on how to carry the bag. We love options! One thing of note is that the Māden tote straps were a touch short (the bag sits right up under the armpit for some torsos), and it can get tough to carry on the shoulder if packed to capacity or when wearing a jacket/coat. The seat-belt style straps also were the least comfortable in our comparison tests.
The Azaria La Mere Luxe has two carrying options with the backpack style as well as a crossbody strap. While there is some adjustability with the backpack straps, the excess strap hangs loose on the sides. The Lily Jade Anna has well loved straps with a narrow placement up at top of the bag which actually gives it a more ergonomic design and evenly distributes the weight across the back and under the arms. In addition to the backpack straps and large grab handle, there are also customizable woven crossbody straps to add a personal flair to your bag.
While we know there are many styles and budgets out there, we like to compare features to help break down the value you get for your investment. Interestingly, when our Māden CarryAll Tote bag was delivered, the threading of the zipper was splitting upon arrival. On their website, they state they only take on all warranties on a case by case basis. Zippers are under warranty for 9 months. At Lily Jade we want our customers to know we value their investment and LJ warrants against manufacturer’s defects for up to 1 year after the date of delivery for the original order. We will repair, replace, or credit you (in that order) for any manufacturing defect. Any manufacturing defect arising within the first 30 days is replaced immediately.
We care about the details. The quality of our bags allows for versatility for years to come. With our premium leather and durability, Lily Jade can go with you through every season.
