Here are some supplies you will need:

  • Gather various fresh greenery: pine, berries, eucalyptus, fir etc. {you can also use faux greenery as an alternative}
  • Get a wreath frame. The thicker the frame the wider the wreath will be {e.g. one bar will be more minimalistic.}
  • Wire cutters
  • Florists wire (craft stores have it cheap!)
  • Small decorations {bells, ribbon, holly berries, pine cones, dried fruit, ornaments, etc.}

Keep in mind one great tip for sourcing greenery is Christmas Tree Farms! They tend to have chopped scraps they they don't need. Trader Joe's is another great place to grab some greens!

For fresh wreath making here are some basic steps:

  • Work clockwise with the stems facing clockwise.
  • Tie each bunch of greenery to the wire frame to secure it. Stagger different ones for more texture and volume.
  • It helps to layout your idea beforehand so you can see what to add next.
  • Next layer your decorations by adding cute bells, ribbon/ bows, etc.)--this is where your style and personality shine!
